An Introduction to Water Beds

A water bed can give amazing results to the soundness of your sleep. These kind of results can not be experienced on a normal mattress. Water beds mold to the exact shape of the user’s body. This spreads pressure equally so they are great for people who suffer from physical conditions such as back problems. They are even great for people who play sport. If you have injured yourself, on a traditional mattress your weight will put pressure on your joint against the mattress whereas a water bed will ease this. A variety of types and sizes are available, just like traditional mattresses on the market. These different types all have their own pros and cons. The health benefits that water beds offers are a lot greater than the effort needed to maintain them.
Pros
Water beds can come with heating. This is a lot safer than the electric blanket which is a big cause of household fires. Water beds also don’t provide a haven dust mites and parasites like normal mattresses do. If you live in a smalls room or home then water beds come in a single person size. Also available in double, queen and king which suit the needs of larger and taller people. A water bed will generally last 2 or 3 years longer than your traditional mattress which will usually only last about 8-10 years.
Cons
The frame of hard-sided water beds makes them hard to get in and out of. Heating the bed costs money can be expensive. A limited range of bedding is available to fit hard-sided water beds. If you want to move your water bed then be prepared for a lot of hassle! It needs to be drained and dissembled. They can leak.
